Estate agent turn over new Leaf.

So is the Mini, made famous by Foxtons Estate Agency a decade ago to be surpassed as the estate agents car of choice? As Environmental Estate Agents, we at House Tree think so.

We have just unveiled the new electric company car, the 'Leaf'. Produced by Nissan and winner of the ‘World Car of The Year’, this is the first pure electric, zero emissions, mass market car.

Managing Director Richard Richmond with the Nissan Leaf
House Tree commitment to 100% carbon positive by 2012

Richard Richmond, Managing Director of House Tree said, "The car sits perfectly with our business model of combining cutting edge Technology with Environmental Responsibility and cost savings. The great thing about the car is the fuel distribution is already in place, we all have mains electricity at home and at work. Councils are already working on how to install thousands of charging points at the roadside. Electric vehicles make such sense, particularly in our industry with so much wasted mileage."

So where does this leave the Foxtons mini? First appearing in 2001, the mini was seen as the ultimate urban vehicle - its compact size making it easy to maneuvers through London's heavy traffic. The emphasis was placed on The Mini's modern and stylish look as the ideal complement to the Foxtons brand. It embedded all the virtues of 'Cool Britannia', with the mini seeming to capture the "It" quality of London at the time.

But with the decade of decadence over, the Nissan Leaf will have universal appeal to many. An environmentally friendly car which is extremely cheap to run; Time Magazine calling it one of the best inventions of the year and national headlines saying 'It is like driving an iPod.'

So it seems we arriving at the dawn of a new driving era, maybe it is time to look at our estate agent in a new light? We at House Tree are a national online estate agency. Created by three industry professionals to develop a sustainable alternative to the traditional estate agent. Launching an in-house technology platform to run real time analysis on clients property needs without having to have an office with a large carbon footprint in each town.

The Nissan Leaf range is to be determined at 117 kilometres (73 mi), with an energy consumption of 765 kj/km (34kWh per 100 miles) and rated the Leaf's combined fuel economy at 99 miles per gallon equivalent.
