Director James Wilson, out in Nepal distributing
books to a newly opened school

We have built a name for a friendly, reliable estate agency service – but we want our company name to stand for more.

That is why we are dedicated to making a positive difference to our world – in our home town, country and across the world! We work with suppliers and customers around the world and believe that we have a responsibility to reduce our impact upon the environment and that is why we are working hard to officially offset all out carbon emissions by 2012.

As staff, we are also committed to helping the environment and that is why House Tree is investing in the Nissan Leaf, the world’s first mass produce electric car, our offices and some of our homes are also powered by Solar PV panels.

By teaming up with local charity, DCWC Nepal, we have helped to build much needed community schools in Nepal – one of the poorest countries in the world – Before the scheme, children as young as five had to endure an exhausting four hour walk to and from school, before starting their seven hour school day.

DCWC worked closely with Sean Wilson (best known as Martin Platt from ITV’s Coronation Street) as he opened the schools on our behalf, and the scheme has given over 1000 children the opportunity to learn.

One of House Tree’s directors, James Wilson is a trustee of the charity and is pictured here distributing books to a newly opened school in Nepal.
